Successful rehab stories

  • Hi, I am Taylor the Admissions Director at More Than Rehab. I have been in and around the treatment world for about a decade. A topic that comes up often is that of success: how is it defined, how is it measured, and how is it accomplished in an individuals recovery journey. There are different metrics that measure the success rates depending on the individuals and the program. Things like sobriety retention length and completion of treatment. One theme I have seen across the board for those that have been most successful in their recovery journey is a shift from hopelessness to a renewed sense of hope. Addiction is so overwhelming that it can begin to define a person. It becomes who they are; who they have been; and they are going to be. All of this is rooted in shame and guilt which only perpetuates the cycle of addiction.
I can think of one young lady in particular that when she came to us at More Than Rehab she was defined by her addiction. Shame and guilt were driving the ship for her. It took her several treatment episodes, but over the last attempt at More Than Rehab and the course of her 90 day stay you could seen her begin to discover a new identity a way from who she was and into who she was going to be. She began to discover her true value, dignity, and worth over the course of the stay and it was such a joy to watch her purpose ingrained in hop take root and drive her in a new direction. Today that continues for her a couple of years later. She is an author, she is able to connect with friends and family, and travels continuing to share her story and impact those she comes across. It is about a renewed sense fo hope. Discovering her calling and living out her purpose.
This is across the board one of the most rewarding things I have experienced working at More Than Rehab. Watching moms, dads, students, wives, husbands, friends shift from Hopelessness to a renewed sense of Hope. That is success.

Hi, I am Amanda and I have been with More Than Rehab close to 2 and 1/2 years. I have held roles in Admissions, Ops, and now one of my favorite roles being the Alumni Coordinator. The individuals I have seen be most successful after coming to More Than Rehab have been those that have completed the full continuum with us and then gone on to continue their journey in recovery by following the aftercare plan designed by the clinical team. I can think of dozens that have achieved success in their own personal sobriety by following the above formula while being a part of More Than Rehab and then staying active in their recovery beyond their treatment stay.
I have seen men graduate from our program and get ground level jobs and move into executive roles within the company, men and women go on to join the military and have successful careers. I have seen men and women return to their home life and become hands and on and very involved with the family as well as those that choose to follow Christ get baptized and find a relationship with their creator. I have seen clients go on to be yoga instructors, get engaged, start a beautiful family, and find their purpose after going through More Than Rehab and working a program. Working a program of recovery works, More Than Rehab works. We have a staff that truly cares and is fully committed to the clients. We can meet you where you are at and love you back to health. We take pride in keeping up with our alumni and seeing them grow and flourish in a sober life. We have a lot of them that have come through More Than Rehab and I am blessed and grateful to be a part of this team.

My name is Sally, I am 25 years old and I am a recovering drug addict who gives God the glory for every success I've been given. I grew up in Colorado and my story begins at 14 when I was introduced to Marijuana. My older brothers all smoked and I wanted to be like them in every way. We all lived very adventurous lives climbing, hiking, and mountain biking. It was always keep up or get left behind. By the age of 15 I was using every day and I continued to use every day until I got arrested on March 28th 2018. Living in Colorado, smoking never had a grand impact on my freedom, but it took its toll on my relationships and my studies. I finished high school, but dropped out of college. I put my relationships on the back burner; including my relationship with God. After dropping out of college I followed my brothers yet again into the next grand adventure of Skydiving. I spent three years filling my cup with adrenaline of the best kind and enjoying life to the fullest. I continued to use, and because my life wasn't falling apart I saw no issues. Little did I know, most of my relationships were gone and I was spiritually dead. I met a boyfriend in 2016 and we moved to Texas. Life in Texas was very different for me. I was no longer skydiving and the weed was never good enough it seemed. I chased adrenaline any way I possibly could and I ended up becoming an escort. I not only continued to use marijuana, but quickly started using cocaine and eventually meth. I fell in love with a meth addict and began using every day all day. Any enjoyment I had in life was gone and him and I would see ourselves in a lot of trouble. We were arrested for aggravated robbery, and that was the end of life as I knew it. Not long after being arrested, I began to see all the times God had saved me from uncertain death, when before I just thought I had dodged a bullet so to speak. I realized that He was protecting me for bigger and better things. He welcomed me into his loving arms and led me into a life of recovery. I spent 3 months at MTR and my experiences there gave me the tools and structure that I needed to succeed in my recovery. I met life long friends and made the life long decision to serve God and stay clean. Since that day I have had my struggles and faced many trials, but to this day God has blessed me beyond belief. I have an amazing life now, I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful son. I have a roof over my head and restored relationships that will last a lifetime. I couldn't be more thankful for my life now and it's all thanks to God, my family, and MTR!
